Climate change mitigation and adaptation is one of the most topical environmental issues in the world. Starting with 20th century considerable climate change effects have been observed in Latvia, including such features as rise in average temperature, rise in maximum temperature, shorter periods of cold waves on the coast of the Baltic Sea and increase in precipitation levels during the cold season. Therefore reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions is an important issue both for installations that are participating in GHG emission quota trading system and state and municipal institutions. In addition to reduction of GHG emissions special importance on national and regional level is paid to climate change adaptation, which has become an indispensable consideration, when planning further development of territories and sectors.
SIA ELLE has a versatile experience in climate change projects, performing GHG emissions’ calculations both on national level and for particular installations, drafting GHG emission reports, preparing applications for update of GHG emission quota allocations, assessing climate change risks, as well as developing recommendations for adaptation measures and carrying out evaluation of proposed measures.
